…and now I’m ready, ready for something new. I’m ready, are you ready too?
Interview with Craig Mills, the owner of Darth Fader Records.
Interviewed By: Eli Enis
Q: As both the owner of a small record label, Darth Fader Records, and a member of a band, Robbing The Vatican, you get to perform, and work behind the scenes of the music industry. What’s one thing you’ve noticed about the underground music scene while being in those two positions?
A: I’ve noticed that running a record label is completely different from the part I played as a member of a band in the music scene. I’ve played in local bands for years but I was never
Sorry about the little posting hiatus. We’ve been busy with shows, our van breaking down near Albany, NY and just working our asses off trying to pay for band expenses (including $800 worth of towing). But nonetheless, I’m back posting to you awesome Tumblr people because it’s always good to be in the loop, right?
Anyway, some exciting news to announce. For starters, we made it to the Top 25 of the Radio 104.5’s 7th Birthday Show contest. If you’re not from the Philadelphia area or you don’t listen to 104.5, this basically means that if you vote us in, we’ll open up for Third Eye Blind, Foster The People, Cage The Elephant and more on May 11th at the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden, NJ (you know, where Camden Warped tour usually is!). This is an incredible oppertunity for us and your vote can help us play this amazing show. All you have to do is click here, throw in your email and vote for No Such Noise once a day!
Secondly, we’re currently booking our 36 day July/August tour with a band that you might just know. We can’t tell you yet because it’s a secret, but we promise they are “a really good time.” We will be hitting California for the first time ever, 5 different venues to be exact, and we couldn’t be more excited to venture ALL the way across America. Until this tour, we’ll be staying relatively local but we promise the tour will be worth the wait.
Finally, as of last week, I am now sponsored by Antigua Winds. If you haven’t seen my new copper sax, make sure to come out to a show and see it in all its beauty. I’ll be endorsing them on the road and have really cool things in the works with them. They’re a great company with incredible horns and I can not be more excited to take their saxes out on the road with me.
So to sum this all up, basically we’ve been working really hard to get out and see new faces and places. 2014 is a new year for us and of course, we have good things in the works as well, including some big show announcements. In the meantime, we now have a new online merch store that you can purchase our full length Album “For Closure” or our new-ish panda shirt. We’ll be having more merch items soon but right now to can head to nosuchnoise.bandcamp.com/merch and pick up some No Such Noise stuff!
It’s been great Tumblr and I promise once summer hits, you’ll be updated more. Keep listening and we’ll be seeing all of you VERY SOON!
P.S. - Tonight we’re at Rider Pub at Rider University with Everything Ever, Hold Your Own and Kim’s Comeback. Doors are at 9 and it’s FREE.
P.S.S. - Our side project Matt Caringi and the Noise featuring Joe, Tom and Me is opening up for Lupe Fiasco tomorrow night at Rowan University.
